Stan Lockhart has been involved in Utah elections for over 30 years. He has served as a Provo City Council member, former Chair of the Utah Republican Party and a member of the Utah State Board of Education. His late wife Becky served 16 years in the Utah Legislature and was the first female Speaker of the House.
Stan is an advocate for Ranked Choice Voting because until recently Utah had over 30 years of declining voter participation and he wants to reverse that trend. America's Founding Fathers wrote that the success of our Republic was contingent on informed voters and engaged electorate.
Kory Holdaway is a former State Legislator who has long been involved in Utah elections. He is concerned about the lack of civic engagement and voter participation among Utah's younger generations and is looking for better ways to engage them.
Ranked Choice Voting is ideally suited for young people who could now get more involved in evaluating candidates by researching them online and in person in order to choose how to rank them. Civility in elections will also attract more young voters who get turned off by negative campaigning.
